I'm taking time to reflect on why I create, how I create and even what I might create in the future. It's a big question but it is also a practical one. I don't want to waste my time but I want to respond meaningfully to my world. I am so incredibly drawn to nature...to want to reflect nature -- it's power, it's dynamism, its spiritual essence even. I wonder if there is a way to complement art with poetry and vice versa -- if it is possible to do so without it appearing like either a simple illustration or didactic explanation. I want the poem and the art to stand on their own yet so often I have varying perspectives on the same subject. I need to go out on a limb here, I suppose, and explore the possibilities.
