I look at my cat with a bit of envy...how easily she sprawls across the warm rad and soaks in the peace-filled day. I continue to slowly heal from that fall I had back in September but I admit I am growing impatient (concussions and whiplash are nasty beasts). I am still taking a rest from everything I can while I work hard at eating well, sleeping well, and functioning somewhat without self-criticism.
We decided on "no gifts" this season which suits our pocket books as well as our stress levels (...although this will never include mama needing to fill her kids stockings - that is pure joy for me).
My break from most of my social media means you won't know if I am drawing or painting or writing poetry or just drinking hot chocolate -- unless you message me privately, which you are welcome to do. I might be creating or simply accumulating inspiring fodder (ideas, experiences, photos of beauty and ineffable things). I know. I am such a mystery.
As Christmas quickly approaches I encourage each of you to reduce your lists so you don't have to check them twice. And look to your cats. They certainly know how to rest. I will keep learning from watching (and sketching) mine.
Until we meet again,
Shalom.
Lorenda
P.S. If you think you might want to purchase a small painting or a poetry book as a gift without getting off your couch though...let me know.
Kitties have a soft spot with me so this made me SMILE extra big! Praying for you as you continue your resting and healing process! Merry Christmas!!!
Loved the drawing of your cat Lorenda took me three looks to realize how it was laying
